According to posting on dssnewbies and futurefta there should be a fix this weekend for pansat. Usually mods will take these posts off but leaving them on and they are by legitimate posters so keep your fingers crossed
Yep, it's another fix promised. But I think it's true this time. I read the thread over three sites already. BL did get some of the fixes that VS did! Cross fingers guys.
my pansat retired but I could use a fix to sell it at ebay for a pretty penny! panarex is getting rid of their employees as per pansat... I wouldnt count on any fix for pansats but ... whatever
Pansat warehouses are full with PVR they were talking about shipping those. They need the fix more than we do. But because before the last fix comes out in June and the sudden death after it in ten days. They thought DN will have another ECM rolling. Nobody thought it will last another ten days.
Now we know that Viewsat fix is come to stay until now, then seems Panarex are in trouble, they can feel the heat.
They can even quit doing their business or change brand name? in both situation FTA is not done yet. More and more technologies are coming forward and this one is not over yet.
Here is my take. There will not be a fix for Pansat because their present receivers are not equipped to handle the fix. Pansat is going to have to build a brand new receiver to stay in business. JMHO.

Fact is, it has never been about the hardware! It's all about the lack of information (map) which has held up the fix. Oh and let's not leave out MONEY!
Jojogun, Pansats are built SPECIFICALLY to decipher the dish datastream. They use exactly the same CPU and board architecture as viewsat. That is why some people have even found a way to transform pansat clones into viewsat clones and succesfully tested viewsat bins. Dont believe me? then go to some of the more well known forums and find out for yourself. The problem is tha viewsat has encrypted its bins and made them in such a way that it is extremely difficult to break. If you think Pansat and the other makers arent trying their damnest to break it, you are deluding yourself. Viewsat made a buisness decision to pay up $800,000 for a fix and as part of that deal, the hackers back in Europe WILL NOT release the fix to the other FTA makers. Since almost every FTA maker bought their fixes from the same people they were left in the dust. Unfortunately for Pansat, they were too tight with their wallets when it counted and it cost them dearly. Like I said in an earlier post, it does not make buisness sense for Pansat to dump a well known AND respected brand name to start over with an unknown brand. If and when they do come out with a fix then all will be normal again and most will forget this episode, just as everyone forgot when Pansat burned many of their own boxes when they first implemented the "clone safe" bins. Viewsat got burned mercilessly for almost a month before responding, now its Pansats turn. In all the time I have been around the FTA scene i have never known BL to lie or exagerate something, so I would like to believe that he is telling the truth and will come up with a fix soon. I dislike and find distasteful the almost cult of personality some people here and elsewhere have with Blacklist. It gets to the point of being ridiculous. People, BL is in it for the MONEY. He doesnt care as long as it benefits his reputation and pockets. I have a Pansat, I like my Pansat and for now am content so long as BL keeps his promise for a new bin in a week or two. If he doesnt then I simply buy a viewsat. Thats life, and thats buisness. If I dont get the service I expect then I go where I do get it.
Mortimer Snerd...didn't you see the JMHO? You DO know what that means don't you. It means, Just my honest opinion. You know what they say about opinions. They are like *ssholes. Everybody has at least one. And....on top of that...everyone is entitled to their opinion..as I'm entitled to mine. Not saying I hope I'm right because I DO have a backup Pansat 2700 that I'd like to put in my den when/if the pansat fix ever comes
Sorry after re reading my post it did come off sounding like a attack.Sorry! People said that Pansat equipment would not work last couple fixes.That whole idea has been put to rest.
