I am sure it will go down again but will all the support Viewsat has it shoud take a short time from them to come up with the bin. I also have a Pansat that I was tired waiting for the fix and if it does come out I can always sell it with a working fix or use it in another room. The price of VS should go up soon so I would buy one ASAP. I got a very good price on Ebay for $144 Shipped.. |

Silver Member Username: VinidominePost Number: 163 Registered: May-06 | VS Xtreme is an excellent receiver and is right there with the coo1sats as far as speed and quality. compared to a pansat 2700A is much faster with a much more advanced video interface. I own ONE VS Xtreme. Have no complains. As to my plan of action, Im giving Pansat and Coo1sat two more weeks. If nothing happens there Im selling all two coo1sats and the pansat 2700a and buying 3 VS xtremes. Now... keep in mind... I also do FTA with a 36" dish so even without DN, Im still watching TV. The units were selling for just around 130 ~ 139 bucks. Within one week of the fix... the price went up the roof to a big 169.99 per unit. a $30 dollars price increase in just 5 days. Silver Member Username: JohnnerMiami, Florida Post Number: 470 Registered: Nov-05 | viewsat platinum: Well I programmed one not too long ago and I can tell side by side Pansat in my opinion is more user friendly. A quick example when autoroll is working in Pansat a #% would come up that lets you know that is working, on the other hand Viewsat just offers a black screen which is a down side, in another hand the guide on a Viewsat is faster and more reliable. Another feature that Viewsat has over Pansat is that you can scan multiple SATs simultaneously, saving you time. And of course the most famous of all: Viewsat has being in the lead with support in the last two times, especially in the last one having the solution not only first but still today Pansat doest not have it. The way you program it differs a bit too but is basically the same. On the Pansat you Turn On the receiver and send the file from the PC to the receiver. On a Viewsat you keep the receiver Off send the file and then turn on the receiver. Little thing that make them different but in the end what is most valued from a FTA receiver is support and Viewsat has prevent that it delivers. |

Your right they prevented for 40 day that they could deliver. Just kidding. Notice theres a lot of new receivers out that are running basicly the same hardware.Most the old receivers are running st5518 cpu and may never come back.The newer sets stand a better chance but time will tell. |

My theory is conspiracy.To make you by new hard ware.Can they make it work?Probably. Most likley they dont have the power to run the software.Im guessing.Same reason the newest games wont run on your computer.Your receiver, basicaly a computer and more.Some of the newest receivers are coming out with hard drives so youll have a built in dvr too. There must be 5 new receivers in the last 30 days on flea bay in the last 40 days.Coininsedance? |

This leads me to believe they are trying to unload as many as they can before the next DN hit, because they won't be able to fix it anytime soon. If I was a non-VS FTA owner, I would seriously reccomend buying plastic before buying VS, and simply wait for your FTA fix. |
