Silver Member Username: NorthmanPost Number: 144 Registered: Mar-06 | Thanks Khan. I set my big dish to G10 ( 123-deg. )& did a blind scan, because the channel wasn't listed on Lyngsat. I had the 3 stations with Bluegrass, Classic & Southern Gospel on Vertical & the Outdoor Channels East & West on Horizontal. This PPV channel, if that is what it is, is called TV 301 after a blind scan & is on 3.948-Ghz Vertical, symbol rate: 5580....showing a horror movie right now & I'll post the real channel name if I see it. Thanks again! |
Silver Member Username: Bazuka2020Post Number: 338 Registered: Oct-05 | Thanks northman for the info, i guess I have to do some research to get a BUD. Thanks for sharing info - thats why we are all here |
Silver Member Username: Mybig_williePost Number: 193 Registered: Jul-06 | Yeah more of this and less of the other.Good info. |
Silver Member Username: NorthmanPost Number: 145 Registered: Mar-06 | Khan, that's why some of us are here anyway, but not a large percentage of the riff-raff. Carry on! Oh, by the way, mine is a 10-ft. dish with a 39-inch ku-band dish & 18-inch DSS dish mounted to it, partially blocking the c-band dish's surface, but even with a 25-degree noise LNB, I am getting 90 to 99-percent signal quality, so I guess that a 7-ft. dish would still work OK, if you aren't able to get a 10-footer. |

Silver Member Username: NorthmanPost Number: 147 Registered: Mar-06 | Between movies, the channel shows "PAY PER VIEW" "Hollywood Hits without the Hassle" Now it's showing the Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin. By the way, there are 4 choices for audio tracks ( 2 languages in Dolby AC3 & 2 languages clear ( English & Spanish )) |

New member Username: NesteaPost Number: 10 Registered: Jul-06 | Can i get this channels with eliptical dish? |
Silver Member Username: NorthmanPost Number: 150 Registered: Mar-06 | Big ugly dishes ( 10-footers ) are the best for consistent C-band reception & the 4-section mesh ones like the Unimesh were always the best. If you're looking at a used one ( taking one down ) then look at the dish from the side to see if it is still flat ( not warped out of shape ). The better the mesh condition the better. Also, the dishes with mounts for an actuator arm are better than the horizon-to-horizon mounts, which are weaker & more problematic than the actuator motor type, which can be quickly changed or exchanged with a new motor, rather than being stuck with a gear box that doesn't work. I have had limited success with dishes as small as 6-ft. for c-band, so I would not recommend 1.2-meter ( 120-cm ). For individual channels, you can sometimes get information from Lyngsat or Satcodx for continental signal levels, with suggestions for minimum dish diameter, according to where you actually are in North America. LNBs with 25-degrees noise or lower work the best. |

Silver Member Username: NorthmanPost Number: 159 Registered: Mar-06 | Hey JCC, certainly we haven't given up on the coders. If we had, then we wouldn't be checking back here so often. The movies on this station are the ones currently on the BEV & DN PPV, so be happy & start watching. For HBO & the rest of the specialty stuff, you always have choices: subscribe, don't subscribe...stuff like that. |
