Hey guys, can i get channels on Galaxy 11 ((91 W) in Southern Ontario? Is it not conflicting with BEV's nimiq? And if i can, do i need a special LNBF and a dish size for it, because lyngsat says the beam is something called "Conus".
you say I can, but the only signal I get is for nimiq1, how do I make it to where it recognises galaxy 11, I have a viewsat platinum with a 30" motorized dish, the only sats I pick up are Echostar sats 61.5,110,119,129,82,91 can you tell me what settings to have it on, if I pick up 91 with a 89/90%strength then shouldnt I be able to get galaxy 11? Thanks for any help.
tons of answers... wow G11 is a LINEAR bird. Nimiq1 and 3 are CIRCULAR. The difference is LNBF type. Get yourself a new Invacom quad. It has 4 outputs... 2=Linear and 2=Circular. Get also a DiSEqC switch. Connect the Linear output to port 1 and the circular to port 2 (or vice-versa) its all up to you. Now make sure your dish is pointed to Nimiq1.3 or G11... (same orbit 91.0 W). In your receiver setup make sure Nimiq1.3 says DiSEqC = 2 and for Galaxy 11 DiSEqC = 1. Save the settings. Now, assuming you already have scanned Nimiq1.3, go ahead and blind scan G11. You should have a list on channels similar to what lyngsat says the Ku band TPs G11 has.
PS.: Conus simply means "Continetal US" - yes, includes Canada.
ANTIDOT: What is the world is a "orbit conus LNB"? LOL
Vin Here is a pic of the setup I bought, I tried the diseq switch, but I am not a fta genious, how would I loop from the motor to the switch to the receiver?
