Worry about it if and when the time comes. Right now it's only a key change no reason to be trying to glitch into the card.

Usually the password is supplied, in a readme file, with the bin file that you downloaded.

It's usually a good idea to change password to something you can remember, when you are programming the card.

I'm still a believer in FTA, but I knew that I needed a backup so I bought a rom102 card off of ebay and they threw in the receiver.

It's kind of fun, working with the actual DN receiver. I feel like I've time-travelled back to the 80's, working with weird-assed electronic devices, and such.

Jason,
You don't have to hook that receiver up to a Texas Instrument PC or worse yet, a Commodore 64 do you?

I didn't find it that difficult. I got a howto from dsstester, got some equipment and away I went. The only problem I had was in unlocking the card (mine was at rev 108) and I had to use a glitcher with a 3.68 crystal. Unlocked seems to be where everyone has problems. The rest is easy. You can buy cards unlocked - the seller will say "has valid ATR" meaning the card has already been unlocked.

Tyler, you use your PC (serial port, usb port, etc) and some software (e.g. Nagraedit).
