hello all, I am a newbie and before i take a hammer to my dish, i wanted to seek advice.
I am trying to setup Intelsat 5 , i have a pansat 3500 with a DN dish attempting to point to the IA5 satellite.

now, in the pansat menu i get satellite names, is IA5 =T5/Ku?

and do any settings have to be changed in the menu to get that signal??

btw all updates have been done to the reciever,,,

thanks in Advance

This a FTA sat, right?

Your DN dish has circular lnbs. You need linear to catch signal.

T5 is telstar-5. Mostly international channels. You need a 30" or larger dish, with linear LNB. Goto lyngsat.c0m, you'll know the channels for each satellite.

You're better off just getting a bigger dish that comes with a linear lnb. Chances are that your directtv dish is circular.
