I'm somewhat new to this and couldn't find a real answer to this, but what exactly do ROM 102 cards do? Are they similar to the previous DTV cards which need constant reprogamming, or are they a one time purchase? Any information on the cards and thier use would be appreciated.
the rom 102 are almost exactly like the old hu cards.,., the rom 102 is a DN smartcard which has to be used in a DN reciver.,., you will need extra equip. to program it.,., you will also need to jtag the DN box to unlock the card for use with all channels.,,. kinda complicated and fairly expensive.,., if your not comfortable with soldering on the board of an ird or a fairly drawn out and technical method of programming the card.,.,., i wouldnt recommend doing it.(although they are the ONLY thing up right now for DN without a sub),,. unless you have some extra money to waste and ALOT of time to read
