Is it possible to play VHS tapes on PC?

Hello, I am a home entertainment newbie and would like to know if it's possible to hook up a VCR to play tapes on a PC? My friend doesn't have a TV and he can watch DVDs right now from the integrated drive, but some things are still in VHS format so I would like to know if we can just get a VCR, some cables, and hook it up?

A link to sites with more info or directions would also be greatly appreciated - thank you!

As long as there is a video input and some type of video software on the PC you should have no problem. I use Sony Gigapocket and it works great. If there are no inputs you can also try WinTV USB by Hauppauge. I have this as well and it works great. I'm assuming the PC has a USB port? these usually run about $70.00 but do your research first. Here's a link to a few sites.

Good luck
