My tv just stopped working. Switched out bulb and still nothing but a green blinking light on the front panel. I'm out of wareentee and this repair is getting outragous.

The tech came out and diagnosed that my ballast had gone bad. Panasonic no longer makes these ballasts so mine needed to be rebuilt at the tune of $400.00.

With the ballast in place still nothing so now they claim that they need to order a "kit" from Panasonic which basically is all the components of my tv. When they find the bad component no matter which one it is the charge is another $400. bucks. On top of this the repair is only warrenteed for 90 days. Gulp!

So at this time I'm at a possible min. of $900. .

Two and half years and two bulbs @ $300.a pop the most recent was installed in March 2006 only a few weeks befor the major break down.

My question is has anyone else had problems with thier boards/inner guts getting fried when the ballast went up and if so what did it cost you to repair?

Also if you have had a similiar repair how has it held up?

Ninty days and $900.00 sounds risky.
