I want my MTV

I have most channels on DN (110 and 119) but I seem to be missing a few here and there. The ones I'm missing are not spot beamed (i.e. they're 'conus').

For instance, I'm missing MTV (channel 160). I aready cleared my channel list and did blind scans. Also, I checked lyngsat to see where MTV is supposed to be: 119 sat, TP 6 (12297 freq). So I did an advanced scan on that freq; some channels appeared but no MTV.

I have a good sig. quality on TP 6 and a friend of mine gets MTV in my area.

Any help would be appreciated...

Jason

But WHAT is causing the channels to be missing? Is it something with the bin file for my Pansat? The only reason I mention that is because my friend, who has a C00lsat, gets MTV with his bin. I can accept that this might be a limitation of getting 'free' tv, but I'm just curious as to why it doesn't work...

Yes, but i have autoTP turned on and i have the latest bin file.

I think that there must be some level of subscription coded into the bin file.

Just checked Jason and MTV is working fine, though mine is on a pansat 2700A. I'm running bin 146 I believe.

I did all of the scans many times over - blind scans, TP scans, advanced scans. I get bad/scrambled channel message. And, the TP is beamed to where I live. There has to be something else...

In the past i had that problem, this is my crazy way to get register the channels, I go to the Antenna Setup in the satellite im select the DiseqC to off if I still receive in this satellite Quality signal i do a scan, i get register again the channels, then im going again to Antenna Setup and select the DiseqC than I have before, I exit without scan again. And I get the channels registry and Signal.
