Hi, I got a sat receiver and was wondering if i split the output to two different televisions then would it be possilbe to watch two different channels at the same time on different tv's. I don't know if it sounds stupid but my pop's friend said he did it and I told him that's not possible.

NO...IMPOSSIBLE..friend is either lying or mistaken!....think about it...the receiver can ONLY receive 1 signal (maybe 2 satellites if 2 LNB's, but the signals are combined into 1 signal still!).....so all any splitter can do is split the 1 signal to 2 TV's ...beleive me, I have 2-3 TV's hooked up with splitters, but U can ONLY watch the same thing/channels thats coming from the receiver the splitter is coming from....U need another receiver to get another sat signal so U can have and watch different channels!...I also have multiple other receivers too..U can bet 1,000,000 to 1 on this!

No, it's not possible from one receiver. You could split it and watch the same channel but not two different ones.
