please can anyone tell me if there is an adapter [or anything else] you can buy if your TV [and DVD player] doesnt have a headphone jack so you can still listen with headphones?

maybe through the RCA line out (audio) terminals?

Only way to go here is to get a receiver - or if you've got major money and/or taste constraints, a stereo system. That's really what the RCA audio outs on the back of your set are designed to connect to. Just about every receiver has a headphone jack, and you can hear anything connected to the receiver through it - TV, DVD, whatever.

It's really easy to go bust on your budget here in home theater, but it's so very worth it. You'll find out.

Wireless headphones by Recoton or Advent work by attaching the transmitter to your tv through it's RCA audio outputs. Check your local BestBuy or RadioShack.
