I have a magnavox tv. The remote for it had 2 buttons, power and standby. I broke the original remote beyond repair. The two universal remotes I bought (including a Philips remote) did not work with the TV but worked on other tv sets.
I turned off the tv with the power button the other day and it somehow switched it to Standby mode. The standby light on the front of the screen is lit up. I have pressed all the buttons on the front of the tv but nothing happens. I unplugged the set from the wall for over and hour and tried again, nothing.
I don't know what to do. I tried to get a Kameleon remote but if I can't turn the tv on then i can't program it. How do I get the tv on? Do i need to contact Magnavox to get a replacement of the original remote?
