What are folks preferences for HDTV tuners with their plasma monitors? I've been looking at the Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK and I guess my options are either buy a dedicated HD tuner, or just get the digital cable package w/HD from Charter and use their box.
I have added a Samsung SIR-t451 tuner to a 42" Panasonic plasma, connected by DVI cable. The results are excellent. The Olympics in true 1080i as broadcast over-the-air by our local NBC station were SPECTACULAR !
I purchased the HD tuner from refurbdepot.com for less than $150 and it has worked well from the get-go. This is the third refurbished tuner I have purchased, the others for family members, and all are working well.
