I have the Sony 50" SXRD tv and wanted to run the power through a battery backup in case my power went off. I wanted to just keep the fans on to cool the bulb while the TV powers down. I got a great deal on the Belkin 750VA 400 watt surge surpressor ($49.00 after rebate) and just wanted to be sure it will be large enough. If I am watching TV, my plans are that if the power goes out, i will immediately turn off the tv and let the fans run off the battery until they shut down. Will this unit work ok? (6 plugs, all 6 are on the surge surpressor, 4 also on battery backup) What do you think?

That Sony should be less than 250 Watts max, so the 400W backup should be enough to do what you described.

Are you kidding! Plug your STB and SS receiver into it and just watch tv until the power comes back on. It shouldn't be out but a few minutes anyway. I've done it several times.
