I just got a new 32inch Samsung lcd HDTV and never had one before. I am using HDMI to HDMI cable. My HD channels are clear but the regular channels are worse than my old TV which was a 10 year old regular TV with no HD. When I stand about 6-7ft away it is ok but not good and when I am 4-5ft away it gets pretty bad. Can anyone please help?

Is your TV a 16X9 display or 4X3? If it's 16X9, are you filling the screen with a non HD signal? Do you have cable, sat or are you just using an antenna? Standard Def will not look good, stretched out, 4 foot away from your TV. I had a Samsung 46" DLP and took it back because it made Standard Def look like crap. I got a Sony 42" LCD that looks a lot better. Although, the signal over the air from the digital transmitters look very good since the SD programs are upconverted to 720p and 1080i. I only have an antenna hooked to my TV and I only watch the digital channels. The analog channels do not look as good.
