I'm sure this has come up before but I can't find it here. I went to circuit city today to look at the sony xbr960 34" tube tv; the only one they had was the display model. The guy there said it's their last one and they weren't planning on getting more--he didn't know whether sony was coming up with a new model or not. So the obvious question is: is it a bad idea to buy a floor display set? I could get a 5 year in-home warranty, but still... On the one hand, i'd at least know it's working and get it cheaper; on the other hand, it's been used and messed around with for god-knows how long. Is there anything I should be especially worried about (tube life, etc)? The other obvious questions, if anyone has the time, are: 1) what's a good price for an xbr960 floor model? He mentioned $1650 but i'm sure i can get it for less than that. and 2) does anyone know if in fact sony is discontinuing this model? thanks...
