I just got a Samsung DVD-VR320 for Christmas. I have an old Mitsubishi television and the cable from wall to televison does not work, I have to use a digital cable box from cox communications in order to get any sort of cable. My question is, how can i record video onto dvd using DVD-R and the digital cable box? Any help given is greatly appreciated.

Connect the box to the recorder with s-video or RCAs and set the recorder on whatever input you used.

should i get some type of a splitter for the S-video then? When I connect the box to the recorder with the cables, I get no picture.

You have to set the recorder on whatever input you used. Some recorders need to be set for s-video/composite in the menus.

Yes, if you use the box and not the recorder tuner.
