Just bought the 50" maxent HD ready plasma monitor and turned on the power. ran Monster component video from the integrated DVD player/tuner to the Plasma monitor. Surprised that the display was black and white - no color signal at all for any DVD that I tried to play - any thoughts why I am getting this?
thx (PS - tried composite cable to a CRT screen and sure enough picture displayed fine - in color)

Try the settings on your dvd menu. That was our problem with poor picture when connecting with component cables.

well. there could be two reasons for this. ONE- double check that the component video cables are plugged all the way in and that they are plugged into the proper jacks. SECOND - check the DVD settings as the above guy said. look specifically for something to do with Component video and turn it on or possibly Progressive Scan and turn that on too. Some DVD's have an option to change the video out sourse from Composite/S-Video to Component. Hope this helps.
