Video Formats on Phillips Model 17PF8946/37

Phillips spec sheet says this model supports 5 formats: 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, & 1080i.
Cable signal is 1080i. Do I have to physically "switch" something on the TV to get the best HD reception ?
