S-Video and/or component?

Hi,

I have gotten hold of a NEC MT-1045 projector which now is mounted in the ceiling. A also have a HK-135 AV receiver and a Pioneer Progressive Scan DVD player. Finally I have a Dish Network PVR. Hooking this up right isn't trivial to me, so I have some questions:

1. I know component is the best way to hook things up, but when my DVD player has component and the PVR doesn't how do I go about hooking the receiver up to the projector? The one connection they all have in common is S-Video. Would that be the way to go?

2. If I go S-Video to the projector from the receiver will I loose a lot of image quality? Also, I understand that Progressive Scan only works with a component connection. Will not being able to feed the projector with Progressive Scan DVD playback give me a visibly inferior experience?
