Each technology has its Pro's and Con's. And is a function of how much did you pay as well as what type of reliabilty do you expect.

You should jump to the Rear Projection forum to really get the inside information.

And, may I make one suggestion, DLP,LCD, and LCOS RP TV use projection lamps. Before you purchase one of these TV's, I suggest you research the life expectancy, availibily, and replacement cost of the lamps.

I had ( before the divorce ) a Sony KDF-60XS955. It's still on its first lamp after 9 months. And, its lamps cost $200 bucks. I've seen some lamps for other tv's closer to $600.

I have an LCD 32" flat panel now.

I say go with a Plasma or smaller LCD. You'd be happier in the long run spending a little more for a much better picture. Keep in mind that we're talking about a difference of 10% or less on price now a days.

DLPs use a single color wheel that essentially spins quickly. It is not particularly accurate for color to be honest. Rainbow effects are a problem as well.
