i kind of inherited an older (maybe 8 years old) rca tv. it has composite and s-video connections. the composite works fine but i can't seem to get the the s-video to work. it didn't come with a remote, so i got a universal one. when i press the input select button on the remote, it switches to video 00 but the s-video signal will not come through. i have tried different sources and different cables. is there somethin i am missing or is my svideo connector shot? if so how much would this be to fix, or is this something i could fix myself? is there other ways to test it?

any help is greatly appreciated

There may be an s-video/composite select in the menus. Most stuff will automatically switch to s-video when connected that way, but I've seen equipment that won't.
