Does anyone have any reviews on the Samsung HP-5072 or the 5052? I lost my stuff in Katrina and I am relocating. I want to get a good 50" Plasma TV. The specs sound good for the Samsung HP-5052 and the 5072, but I am wondering if they are good TVs. Anyone know anything about them? Are they as good as the Pioneer Plasma TVs? If so/not why?

I also have a concern about screen burn? Can you play Xbox360 or PS2 on a plasma TV?

Thank you,
Kenny

Not many official reviews yet, but on the AVSforum most people don't like the new Samsung plasma despite the good specs. The main complaint seems to be that one can't turn off the DNie processing. The say that degrades the picture. A few user reviews are on Circuit City.com for the 42 and Amazon for the 50. They looked good to me, but I went with the Vizio and am very happy---unreal price.

Burn in is only an issue if you forget your xbox on a menu screen for hours.

Hope things are well in LA. I'm originally from Lafayette and lived in NO for 10 years. Sounds like a real mess.

Thank you Tony. My wife and I are doing fine for now, I have new house and I am trying to get my home theater back together.

I was looking at the Vizio 50" on thier website but I just don't know. I like the way it looks but I hear it does not have a screen burn protection feature. Let me ask this and it will set me strait. Sometimes I stay up late when I have to work night shift the next night and I like to play my PS2. I play it for 4 or 5 hours. Do you think I will have a problem with a plasma TV?

Don't know what all the fuss is about. Just bought one. One word HD Football "WOW". Watched LOTR, I didn't have any problem with the black being gray or the gray being another color, maybe you can't go by my old eyes. I thought it was great. it could have been better forgot the progressive scan mode on the DVD. My son was watching for the flaws, he also thought it was a great picture. Those critic must have some fine eyes, and they may be correct, CR rated the 4052 at #8. I'm plenty satisfied...aaaaaahhhhhh.
