I am looking at the same TV's only in the 50" models. I was really ready to buy the Samsung DLP until I saw the Sony 50A10. I have looked at them side by side at several places this past weekend and like the picture on the Sony better. I have asked other people nearby which one they liked best and in every case people pick the Sony. Sales people are pretty much split between the two.

This board seems heavile biased to the Samsung DLP. My son in-law and daughter have a Samsung DLP two years old and really like and have no problems whatsoever. You can read and analyze all you want, but in the end you have to decide which one looks best to you.

Of all the TV's I looked at this weekend, the Sony 40" LCD XBR is the best looking picture I have found. I want at least a 45" screen and can not get anything wider than 47" in width. I considered Plasma, LCD Flat Panel, LCD RP and DLP and I really think the Sony 50A10 is the best bang for the buck.

This is just my opinion and I am by no means an expert. The more you read the more confused you will get, trust me on that.

Let us know what you decide.

I can get the 50A10 delivered for $1935.

Not sure I want to buy over the internet, I figure I will save about $450. That's hard to pass up.

If I were going to get a Sony...

or

and nothing else, period.

I know you have seen the Sony thread with all the failing LCD displays.

You should pull the trigger on something!
You have pondered this crap far too long!!!

What's the difference how long I PONDER what I buy? When I first started looking I had a car that quit on me and a marriage to pay for. I was never in a hurry. I hate this anonymous posting crap.

Hello:

I saw the Best Buy add this weekend and the KDF-E42A10 is $1599 (they advertise $1999 with $400 before savings) Wonder if you can get Sears to price match? Hope that helps.

I just went to the Best Buy website and they had the 42a10 at $1799 regularly $1999. They had the e50a10 at $2499 and not on special like the 42.

Before the week is over, check Bestbuy.com, click on weekly ad (upper left hand corner), I used 60090 as zip code, on page 5 of the ad, its $1999 with $400 savings.

That's the 42" which you can get at Circuit City for $1799 in the store. I'm sure Best Buy would do the $1799 too.

I don't read $1599 at Best Buy.

Here are E-tailer sites with no tax.
Some have free shipping.

I was just pointing out the price in the weekly ad (either online or print) is different from the online price. Best buy shows 2 different prices. My point is moot now anyways, I cannot prove it anymore because BB has already updated thier weekly ad online. I can only prove it on my print ad at home. Not much more I can say about it.
