I purchsed an Akai PDP5016H from Sam's (of course) back in late September. Simply love it! Much better than any of the LCDs of equal or smaller size.
One caution though: Keep all power cables away from the three color video cable or you might get a slight occasional EM interuption (screen flickers just a bit)--just move your AC power cables away from the video cable. This problem is not unique to this TV, it is common...

i bought the akai pdp 4206em 42" plasma and I love it. great color. no comlaints. hope it stays like this.
Thanks for the EM iteruption tip I was having that problem and I checked and sure enough my power cord was wraped around the component cables. (fixed Now) but my remote shows no defects and works great,
I bought the Akai 50" PDP5016H Plasma on Dec 13, 2005. I have a high pitch ringing which I haven't had the time to figure out where the feedback is coming from. Any ideas?
The picture quality isn't that great but it could be my cable company. It's better when I play a DVD. I do love it though.
After connecting a DVI cable from my cable box to the TV, the screen no longer will go to full width when receiving and HD signal in the NORMAL mode. The INFO says NORMAL, Y,Pb,Pr, 480P. I believe it was receiving a 720P before I connected the DVI cable. I've since disconnected the DVI cable, but the screen now remains small (not full width or height). Does anyone know how to reset the the screen. I can not find it in the manual. Thanks ADS
