hi, i just got a TH-50PX50U, i'm trying to connect a computer to the TV's HDMI port using a DVI to HDMI monster cable. the picture is great, very sharp, but i'm not getting the very edges, just a nearly-full cropped image. the problem is slight enough that i can still see some of the taskbar for instance, but i was wondering if anyone had an idea as to how to fix this? failing any other solution i would even go for software that fakes a lower resolution by not using the whole screen if anyone knows anything of the sort. on the computer side i am using a radeon X850 XT for a video card.
i've been doing a little reading and i got the idea the problem might have something to do with the tv's native resolution. the top resolution for this one is supposed to be 1366x768, but the default monitor driver that's loaded for it only goes as far as 720x480... is there another generic driver i might be able to get the native resolution with? utility?
I have the 9800XT and it won't work... I have been waiting for someone to make a display mode that is 1280x768.... the problem is that your card is showing 1280x800.... those 32 extra pixels are creating the problem.
oh, oh well. i guess i'll keep my eyes open for any future video cards that might be able to do x768. too bad you can't ask the operating system to use less than the entire display. thanks for the help! nir
I know my nvidia card has resolutions for tvs and will render 852x480, 1280x720, and 1366x768. i have a 5200fx. i would think the higher end models would still render those resolutions. if it meant you switching cards you might consider nvidia....
