I have a problem when I am viewing Input 6, which is the HDMI feed. Once and awhile the picture just goes to "snow" like the TV is dropping sync with the cable box. I have a HD cable box witha DVI output. I have a DVI to HDMI cable. I can go for hours with no problem and then all of a sudden I can't go for more than 5 minutes without this problem happening. If I change to another input and then change back, the signal is restored. Any ideas?
are you sure that your remotes are not conflicting? I had an issue with my 50xs955 and my yamaha reciever. some controls on the reciever changed the channel on the tv so it was not on input 6 anymore.
nope, not the remote. it stays on input 6, but the display just turns to white snow. I can still hear the sound, but I'm just watching snow. if I change the input and then go back, it re-syncs. If I change the channel there is no help -still has snow.
i do have comcast and I have a box with a dvi output which I am using with a Dvi-Hdmi cable. The sony lcd has a Hdmi input. Theoretically this should all work just fine
comcast cannot fix that. I am almost positive it is the tv. You have the XBR.... does that take a cable card? You shouldn't be able to see snow on that input. Only C1 and C2 can display snow. When there is no input the tv will display black. I have the 50xs955 so I am familiar with the TV. I cannot replicate the problem without changing the input.
