what is the best movie for viewing on a plasma or LCD HD TV?

Since one of plasma's biggest drawbacks is peak white limiting, stay with DVDs that are relatively dark. For example, plasmas look terrible on Ice Age.

Since LCD doesn't have great black level, they tend to look better on DVDs that are relatively bright. Seabiscuit is used by a number of reviewers. . .lots of beautiful scenery and bright colors.

Reed, it sounds like you have been looking for something to demo HD.... is that the case? If so use bright colors, good perspective, and try to avoid "very white" and "very black" scenes.

The opening sequence on Digital Video Essentials is good. Digital DVDs for demos include the incredibles, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo. Other goodies are Northfork ( stunning on Plasma), as well as Lord of The Rings ROFTK, as well as Master and Commander, and I Robot.

The above two posts about white limiting and nothing dark or light is pretty ridiculous BTW.
