Hello, i just bought a 1080p mitsubishi dlp tv and i got the dennon 2910 dvd player. The picture is much better than standard tv, but no where near as good as an hd tv feed? the up converter says it goes to 1080i why is my picture not as good? Do the upconverters really work? It seems like the picture with my old Dvd is just as good? is the dennon 2910 dvd player good? I have it hooked up via hdmi 2 hdmi. thanks!

I would love to know the answer and see some posts in here. I bought a Pioneer DV-45 so that I could have DVD Audio. My friend has a Toshiba 62" DLP and the HD feed during the World Series was stunning. I'm looking at the Pioneer DV-59AVi and am reading about the IC converter and wish I had spent $1,000 more, even though I don't have an HD ready TV. I do plan to buy one next summer and I would hate to think I just bought a $500 DVD player and will regret it next year.
If there's really not a huge difference I'll be relieved.
