hello, we recently purchased a used plasma(Sharp pz-43hv2u) that has a damaged protective outer screen-it has a couple of dents and some scratches on what I assume is the plexiglass part of it. Anyway the inner screen looks great and works nicely. We would like to replace the outer screen. We did find the replacement screen for this tv but it is very expensive even just for that outer part. Does anyone have suggestions on replacing it-does it have to come from the manufacturer? or can we use something else-any info would be really appreciated-thanks!

Buy a wood plamsa "picture frame" instead and save some money. They are $200-$400. They are custom made for all types of plasmas and makes it look like a nice big framed picture. It would cover the bad frame area. Google for plasma frame.
