I have 2 sources. 1 is TV through a RF hookup and the other is AV1 through RCA cables. It will recognize either of them...but not in PIP mode. When you bring up the PIP sources. It acts as thr\ough they do not exist.

do you have hd signal? if not it won't recognize them. it only does pip when you have hd signal
I have not had any issue with my PIP on the same TV.
I am wondering if your TV seems to have alot of fan noise?? Also has some issues when playing a DVD player. White lettering on a DVD signal take a long time to disappear almost like a ghost image. You got the same issue?? Or can I correct it??

On this model To make the PIP work you have to have a digital and an anologe signal. The Ypbpr port is considered a digital port by Akai so that will work. As to the fan noise, It is a easy fix if you contact there service department. 1-800-726-4405. When they came to fix mine all they had to do was tighten down the fan.
