i have the 51" hitachi big screen, model no. 51f510, and there is a port on the back of the tv that looks like you could make the tv your computer monitor. my question is can i do that and if so how would i make it appear on the screen becuase it is not labeled as an input. would i have to flip to a certain channel? thanks for the help!

"Strange port is not helpful. Is it Firewire, DVI, HDMI or USB? No one can anwser your question correctly as it is worded now.

Your strange port is an rs-232c control jack. You can network with other gear using this.
