Using US LCD TV in South Africa (PAL/I)

I am currently living in the US, and would like to buy an LCD TV that will be compatible with PAL/I when I return to South Africa next year.
When I am in South Africa I would obviously not use the TV's built-in tuner (which will be NTSC), but will use the tuner in my South African satellite box.
Would this work?
If so, would only certain TV's apply (I am looking at a Sharp Aquos).
If the TV I bought had an ATSC tuner, would that make any difference?

An NTSC TV won't work in PAL land. Your satellite will still be sending a PAL signal to an NTSC TV. You need a PAL TV or a multi-format TV, which isn't very easy to find in the U.S. Unless the satellite outputs NTSC, then it will work.

What about ATSC? Would that work in PAL land?
Per Wikipedia - (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATSC) "The system includes the capability to carry PAL- and SECAM-format video (576 displayable lines, 50 fields per second) along with NTSC (480 displayable lines, 60 fields per second) and film (24 frames per second)"

You can buy multi-system LCD TVs.

ATSC is another question.

you can buy a multisystem vcr or dvd player and run the signal through it first.
