ok I have now read many different reports about these 2 types.
Which one is better for a main TV(Games, movies fromm a PC hook up, general tv, and DVD). I realizwee that neither of these suffer from burn in. What are the pros and cons of each type, in relation to what I would like to do.

thank you again very much for any ideas or suggestions.

Remember that both have to have lamps replaced. I bought a returned DLP rear-proj from Circuit City the other day. After demo-ing it, the salesperson unplugged it and I brought it home. It was dead when I got home. The store said that it was their fault - they should've let the lamp cool for 4-5 minutes before unplugging the TV. The lamp had to be replaced, and it cost $ 350. I returned the TV and got a CRT-rear projection (Sony Wega) and am quite happy, except for the weight of the unit.
