I have a 32" RCA TV that has an S-video input and a composite(RCA) input. I have a receiver that only has a composite(RCA) monitor out. The composite input on the TV is broken, but the S-video works fine. I got an S-video to RCA converter from Radio Shack, but I am unable get any video from the receiver.

Receiver(composite output) <==converter==> TV(S-video input).

Is there any cheap way to get this to work?

Thanks,

Jim

Sounds like you need composite to S-video converter, not the other way around. Doubt you can get this "cheap". Of course that depends on your definition.

This is what I tried, but got no video. Shouldn't this work?

What component are you attempting to connect through your receiver for tv display?

A dish network DVR receiver and a dvd player.

I tried one of those converters, it didn't work for crap. Picture was lousy and the colors were all tweaked.
