Anonymous | Looks like a three dimentional grid from the service menu. Nice reflection of your windows and curtains on that glaring Mitsu screen. I see you sitting there too! You might consider placing the set on the window side of the room facing in. You don't have a small button pushing child do you? That's a bizarr test pattern! Have you tried unplugging the set for a few minutes? |

If all fails there maybe a dry joint on the PCB or a IC that's malfunctioned, if that is the case the cost will be quite small. |
grfunk Unregistered guest | Bad capacitor or capacitors in the deflection circuit. Easy to fix if you're a tech. Shouldn't cost much. |
New member Username: BlindeAsdf, CA United States Post Number: 2 Registered: Jun-05 | grfunk - thank you for the specific response to my question(s)! i was thinking a bad cap or solder joint. i'm not a tech (although i know enough to get myself in trouble), and i don't have the servce manual. there is a local company sending out a guy later today... $80 for the service call, we'll see. thanks again, bline |
grfunk Unregistered guest | $80.... Yeah, those things are hard to take in yourself unless you have a truck. I hope they don't hit you with board replacement but they might do that since a lot of shops won't get down to component level repair. I wonder if they would do that type of service in your house anyway. I'm able to take care of my own electronics so I don't call out. Let me know how things come out. |
