Playing it safe, quick question on Progressive Scan.

I had the Dyna Flat HDTV by Samsung, as an avid gameplayer I went and got component cables for my gaming systems, to use the Progressive Scan option. Though after a while the TV overscanned and totally messed up, though I hear the Samsung HDTV's have this bad reputation.

Now, finally months later I saved up enough money to get the 32" Sony Trinitron Wega HDTV after they took back the other TV and gave me my money back. Well I just had to ask, is it safe to use progressive scan on this TV? Is it normal and should I do it? It's one of the main purposes I wanted an HDTV, but I want no problems, so I'd like to know if it's safe and if you've heard of problems with this particular TV using Progressive Scan with games.

Thanks much for any help, just keeping it safe. ;)
