No HDTV - New TV purchase

Hello all,

I just moved into an apartment complex that also provides the cable television service for the complex. Therefore, I do not have access to HDTV service through say Comcast or DirectTV. I have to rely soley on what they provide. I would like to purchase a new TV. I guess since I can't utilize HDTV and I don't plan on moving for at least 3-4 years, my question is what sort of TV should I spend my money on? I'd like to keep it under a $1000.

Thanks for any help.

I think you will happier over the long run with an HD ready tv. If I'm not mistaken, Comcast can provide an HD box an HD programming at additional cost.

If all you are looking for (or need) is a regular ol' 4:3 TV, but you want something really nice, IMHO you cannot beat a 36" TV. Here's a dandy for less than 1000 bones... :-)
