New DLP Woes

I'm holding out for the new 1080p DLP's but I've recently read that is will not support 1080p signals...instead it will up convert the signal to 1080p thereby giving you an "Enhanced" effect. The xHD3 is boasting 1080p so are the manufacturers not building sets to take advantage of this in their first release of RP DLP's??? If they're not then I won't wait. Anyone have the scoop on this?

None of the new 1080p television will support a 1080p signal and there will not be a native 1080p signal on HD broadcast or HD DVD for years, if ever.

Then what is the advantage of waiting for one of these new 1080p TV's? Sounds like an effort to recoup R&D money to me with no real advantage for us end users!

Seeing is believing!

It's a 1080P native scaled display!
They are brighter!
They have better black levels!
They use 100% of the chip area!
Pixel spacing is much closer!
Unmatched picture, even on the 67" screen!
Las Vegas CES "Best in Show" award!
Got deep pockets? 7K for the big one!
