have cablevision for hdtv, can i also hook up my descramber that gets all channels and payperviews directly into input of tv (by splitting cable wire that comes into home - one into cablevision box and one into tv, tv input would choose which input is in use)

i have one wire that wire is split into three one goes into my moms room one to my sisters and the other downstairs to the main tv. can i split the main tv cable and feed it into my room without taking all the power from the downstais tv?
Anonymous, yes that will work. Usually I connect the composite video to the TV from the STB so the PIP or POP (split screen) functions properly.
Haggerty- Yes you can split it, it will degrade to signal to all the TV's in the house, not just the main TV downstairs. A 4-way amplifier will allow you to split the main cable feed to all four TV's and will increase the signal strength to boot. As always, before purchasing any RF amp, make sure it is bi-directional.
