we have an 18 months old LG DLP rear projection tv which has a problem. when it comes on the light flashes orange (preparing to come on), and the picture comes on with no sound. The remote will then not work (batteries OK). LG don't wont to know as it's 6 months over guarantee. Any ideas??

Did you get the warranty plan from where you bought it? (Circuit City, Bestbuy, ZOBO)
nope - just the standard 12 months. i stupidly thought that spending £2,000 on a tv that it would last at least 5 years. A local company have since taken it away to be looked at charging £53 so far....it looks like it will be around £400 - £500 to fix...
