Hi, I was watching T.V. (Modern Marvels on the History Channel), then all of the sudden the picture and sound shut off, and on my cable box appeared "d1". I have Comcast digital cable, and I'm not sure what the cable box model number is (I couldn't find the manual either). I have tried mashing buttons, unplugging it, etc., but nothing seems to respond.
So, does anyone know what this means? I was hoping to catch MacGyver...

It is actually dl not d1 and it stands for "Download". It means a download is in progress initiated by and from your cable company. Interrupting the download will only cause it tp reset and start over from the beginning. If the download does not end in ten minutes or less you should call your cable company and ask them for a "Hit", they will/should understand.
