Sorry, I'm a complete novice here. All I really want is to record my old videos to DVD, editing out parts I don't want. Apart from the ones with the hard disk in them, can i edit the ad's out with the combo or separate ones before the dvd is finalised? i've never owned any dvd recorder before so not sure how the process works. if i wanted to edit out ad's do i have to pause the dvd recorder when the ad's begin? or can i record the ad's and then go back later and edit/delete the ad's out?
thanks anyone!!

You can edit DVD-RW discs if they are recorded in VR mode not video mode. VR mode will make the discs non combatible with players though. DVD-RAM can also be edited, but will only play on newer Panasonic DVD players, and a couple of other expensive ones. Probably be best to get a HD if you want to edit. Stay away from combos, they are poor quality.
