Ok, having spent a small fortune on a sony camcorder that seems to do everything, i discovered that when i wanted to record from a vcr back to the camcorder, that my TV and my Video have no AV outputs! Is there a way around this, or do I need to invest in a vcr or tv that has outputs. Thanks
An RF modulator would probably work, but you will notice significant loss in picture quality.

Regarding the VCR to PC via DV camcorder - how would you accomplish that ? For example - do I place the camcorder in play or record mode ? any specific action/settings required ?
I've got a Canon MV450i (UK spec). I can get the VHS tapes to play via the VCR onto the camcorder, but when the Firewire output is connected from DV camcorder to PC - nothing happens on the PC, ie, capture/editing software does not get the signal from camcorder.
I can transfer from DV tapes to PC though, but I prefer not to record them on DV tapes first and then transfering them, as some of the recordings are approx 2 hrs or more.
