I just connected my DVD player to my new tv via component cables. When I am watching movie where there is a little black on the top and bottom it looks like the bottom shakes a little. It is right where the black meets the actual movie. It isnt a huge shaking but just enough to notice. When I turn the progressive scan on my DVD player off it stops. Should only certain DVDs be played in progressive scan?

Also I see a lot of movies coming out in 2.35:1 ratio. Is this going to be how the majority of DVDs are going to be viewed? They seem to have more of a black out on the top and bottom of the screen then the DVDs that are in 16:9.

Thank you for all of the help. This Audio/Video n00b really appreciates it.

Sounds like the DVD player is having a problem with the letterboxing. Go into the DVD menu and experiment between the 4:3 and 16:9 setting and get back to me.
