i have a coby-224 and it says on the front that it will play cd-r's, i burned a movie onto a cd-r and it says "wrong disc" it will play everything else fine
try cr-rw they have a better surface bonding material then rw.
rw is full of "hole's"that a typical laser system may not catch ,unless your system incorprorates a 3 laser pick-up. rw's will usally be hit or miss depending on the surface material.
CD-RWs generally have a quite a bit lower compatibility than CD-Rs.I have a 6 year old Panasonic that will play CD-RW burned movies and not CD-R movies, I got this from other people's posts I haven't tried either, so it's possible.
