Last week i had comcast digital cable installed, i was watching t.v. tonight, when my t.v. died, no sound, no picture, no power at all. I also smelled electrical burning. i unplugged everything. t.v. does not work at all. is this a coincidence, or can a digital cable box do something to kill a t.v.?
thanks.

"...can a digital cable box do something to kill a t.v.?"

Well, yes 'n' no...

I live in the 'Lightning Capital of Arizona', so to speak, and during the summer months, TV's get fried left 'n' right from lightning traveling down the cable system. Ppl will unplug their sets from the wall, when they aren't using them, but they always seem to forget about the 'cable box' itself, and BAM!

Other than a special situation, like a lightning strike, a car running into a power pole, or whatever, I doubt if 'cable' can kill your set...
