My Sony Plasma has an HD DVI in connection, Direct TV HD reciever has HD DVI out, picture is beyond awesome. I want to get the direct tv/tivo reciever to record in HD.... this only has HDMI should I get the converter to go from HDMI to HDDVI in my Sony. If anyone knows for sure it wont change the picture quality, or knows another type of DVR to recommend that has HDDVI please let me know. Thanks
Doesn't sound like you need a converter, just an HDMI to DVI cable. I've not noticed any picture fall off when using DVI although I read a very extensive article indicating there might be some minor degradation.
