Denon DVD2200 vs. Philips 963SA

These two DVD players are very close in performance. I have recently audited both and I think the Philips 963SA did better on CD/SACD than the Denon 2200. Video quality are comparable but I think the Denon track/resolve a bit faster. Since I spend more time listening to CD/SACD, the Philips 963SA is naturally my choice.

My setup are
Marantz SR5400
JM-Lab Chorus 715/706/770
Atlas 1.25

I like Philips products. In fact as you know, Philips invented both formats (in colaboration with Sony): CD and SACD. The player you mentioned Philips DVD 963 SA is great to play CD's and SACD's (and is excellent playing DVD's , too). He made very low noise when reading the discs and his track access speed is very good. As I like much more SACD and CD formats than DVD-Audio, for me the best choice, in my opinion, is the Philips DVD-963 SA. In fact, this last one had five stars in the hi-fi choice (United Kingdom) magazine. But is you that decide. By the way, your setup is very good, too.
